Yojimbo
« on: December 17, 2005, 01:40:18 PM »

Of all the "old" martial arts films, I like Yojimbo he best.  Toshiro Mifune is arguably the best character of all time.  Love the sword work.  you have to slow the action down by freeze frame to see how it is choreographed.  The story even worked when transported to Hollywood.

Can beat the old'uns.

One of the best films I have seen is twilight samurai.  Excellent film starring Hiroyuki Sanada (also starred in The last samurai)
well worth a watch

Yeah, Mifune is the ultimate.

Another oen of my favorites is "Branded to Kill" by Suzuki. It's one of the weirder/dreamy Japanese gangster movies you'll probably ever see.
